Below are selected images showing a variety of oceanographic processes and features:
2) Sea-Surface Temperature distributions in the Pacific Ocean in October (2004) and March (2005) showing the movements of SST fronts.

2) Pacific-wide surface Chlorophyll-a distribution during October 2002. Note the well-defined chlorophyll front in the N. Pacific, as well as the eddy spinning off the SE coast of Australia.
3) Algae blooms observed throughout the Hawaiian Archipelago in October 2004. The spiral shapes depict the location of numerous eddies.
4) Eddy spin-up in the Alenuihaha Channel as observed simultaneously by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) and the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) sensors. A strong thermal gradient can be seen to the SW of the Island of Hawaii.
